Today I was able to:

Meet with the coordinator at the Shaw Center. We figured out how many tables, chairs, linens, etc. I needed and discussed overall logistics. That killed two birds with one stone because now my rental order is done!
I took my dress to the alterations place. It only needs minor things done (straps tightened a smidge, the sides taken in, a bustle added). That will be done by the end of the month.
I meet with Robert and figured out all the flower details (bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces, etc.). That was a relief because I hate details. I’m such a big picture person it’s ridiculous.

I like days like this when I can check a bunch of things off my to-do list. Over the weekend (or tomorrow if we get a day off for weather) I am going to get my shoes, scout a dress for Mack, and finally join redeem my tanning certificate.

Since I haven’t posted anything to this little wedding tumblr in, oh, a few months, here are some of my favorite things I’ve purchased from Etsy for the wedding.

A personalized hanger for the wedding dress. It’s really for pictures only, but it seems like a fun, unique idea! Plus, it was less than $20! (LilaFrances on Etsy)
A personalized address stamp is a good thing to have whether you are doing wedding invitations or not. This will decrease the work for Ms. Tyla (who is addressing our invites) by two thirds! (LetterGirl on Etsy)
Thank you notes are a no brainer, and these don’t have anything on them that make them wedding-specific, so they can be used for other thank yous. Also, they are flat, which I like better than the folded for some reason. (Invited Ink on Etsy)

I wish someone had told me Andrew’s cousin was going all out on his wedding invitations! Ours look quite simple in comparison.

Updates:

I haven’t posted anything on here in awhile, so here are some updates, in bullet form:

We booked a DJ and now have a 6 page questionnaire to fill out about music preferences. Let the first dance song negotiations begin.
We also began a registry at BB&B. It’s still a work in progress, and I don’t think anyone would even go to look at it until the first shower*, but it’s been on my check list for awhile and I do love to check things off the list.
Speaking of, the bridesmaid dresses were picked out and “registered for” at David’s Bridal. And Alena has already found shoes that everyone has liked, so that may be done too!

Next up, I think, is meetings with the bakery and florist to begin discussions about what we want- Hint: I want a chocolate wedding cake. I’ve never liked “wedding cake” flavor.
